Deni KOŽUL and Sara TOKIĆ claimed the singles titles at the Slovenian National Championships.
In the absence of injured Darko JORGIC, KOŽUL confirmed his status as favourite, securing his fourth consecutive and sixth overall national title. He dominated the event without dropping a game until the semifinals, where he defeated Miha PODOBNIK, and went on to beat Peter HRIBAR in the final in straight games.
HRIBAR had a more demanding path to the final, coming through a seven-game semifinal against Brin VOVK PETROVSKI, but was unable to challenge KOŽUL in the title match.
In the women’s singles, TOKIĆ successfully defended her crown, claiming her third consecutive national title. She overcame Tjaša NOVAK in the final (4-0), although two of the games were closely contested. On her way to the title, TOKIĆ defeated Katarina STRAŽAR in the semifinals, while NOVAK advanced after a tight seven-game victory over Lea PAULIN.
TOKIĆ also enjoyed success in doubles, winning the women’s doubles title alongside Ana TOFANT, while the men’s doubles crown went to KOŽUL and HRIBAR after a dramatic five-game final. In mixed doubles, Miha PODOBNIK and Katarina STRAŽAR retained the title.
